Prato, 9 May 2025 - “A difficult weekend, without having found the feeling I was looking for on the bike. We'll make up for it next time”. With a cool head, Lorenzo Dalla Porta commented on his sixth place in the debut race of the 2025 Stock championship.

Lorenzo debuted with the Pitformance VRS team as vice-champion, considering the title narrowly missed last year due to a race not held due to a clash with a CIV commitment. In light of his 2024 performance, the rider from Montemurlo therefore started as the favorite also for the first round held in Portugal, which however proved to be particularly hard-fought: the average age has risen and Dalla Porta has competed with more experienced riders. For him it was the second outing of the season, after his debut in the Italian Speed Championship in Misano a few weeks ago, which ended with a sixth and an eighth place in the ranks of Team SGM Tecnic (for a double placement that left him with 18 points).

The 2019 Moto3 world champion is also sixth in the general Stock standings with 10 points, fifteen points behind current leader Iker Garcia. But there is plenty of time to recover, by eye: on June 1st the circus will stop in Jerez de la Frontera, in Spain, for a commitment that however overlaps with the Mugello round of the Italian Championship (which will take place on that weekend). Lorenzo will therefore most likely have to choose. And although his love for the Tuscan racetrack is well known, who knows if he won't be able to race on Iberian soil. Even if the seasonal goal seems clear. "I would like to win the Italian Championship to relaunch myself - the person concerned recently reiterated - I could have fought for the title in 2024 too, unfortunately it wasn't possible".
